Steve is Birmingham born and bred. He started training in 1974, at the age of 14, in Kung Fu. His interest grew to take in other disciplines including Ju-Jitsu, Muay Thai and Russian martial arts.

He has always been keen on the practical street uses of combat systems, and

that led to his becoming a member of the British Combat Association (BCA), ultimately becoming a Self-Protection Instructor.

He has also taught Ju-Jitsu to a high level, with many students attaining black belts and beyond. He is a fully trained first-aider.

In the late nineties the BCA hosted a Krav Maga seminar led by Eyal Yanilov, the Chief Instructor from Israel. Steve was impressed by how effective Krav Maga was, and immediately incorporated KM methods into his training. This culminated in his going on the Instructors Course. After intensive full-time training and a rigorous exam he qualified as an Instructor.

Now he is keen to bring Krav Maga to the Birmingham area.
